Michael Carter MSc CMEngNZ (PEngGeol)

About me

I was born and raised on a sheep and cattle breeding farm at Te Mata - a small village 15 KM from Raglan. My early career was as a sheep and cattle farmer and I continue to farm.

Enrolling in Earth Science with the University of Waikato in 1994 I graduated with a MSc in 2002, my thesis being focused on the Te Kuiti Group of calcareous rocks in the Aotea - Raglan Region. My geotechnical consultancy was founded in 2003. Since that time 105 geotechnical investigations have been completed in the Western and Central Waikato.

During the early 2000's I spent 4 years working in 5 developing countries as a  hydrogeologist for International Committee of Red Cross.

I have always felt a deep affinity with the land and I am passionate about my work.  My prime objective is to formulate effective and secure outcomes for my clients.

I am registered with Engineering New Zealand as a Chartered  Professional Engineering Geologist.
